Gourmet Popcorn Ideas with Popcorn Kernels

Whether you're a microwave popcorn fan, or you prefer to pop it with a popper, I have a few ideas to help take your popcorn-making game to the next level.

Think outside the bag and consider making your own gourmet popcorn. Soon you'll be enjoying delicious flavors like cinnamon sugar popcorn, taco popcorn, popcorn kale chips, and more. All you need to start is a good quality popcorn kernel variety pack.

Start by preheating your popper if you're using one. Popper kettle style machines are my favorite as you can control how quickly the kernels pop and you get a big batch of popcorn all at once. If you're using the microwave, follow the instructions on the package for the best results.

Once your kernels are ready, you can experiment with different toppings and seasonings. A handful of finely grated parmesan cheese, some chili powder, or just a bit of garlic salt can all add flavor and surprise to your popcorn.

If you're not in the mood for savory flavors, why not try sweet? Sprinkle a little powdered cocoa on your popcorn and add a few dark chocolate chips, or try your hand at caramel popcorn.
